IMPACTful Machine Vision Lighting Information

As stated throughout my previous three blog articles, lighting is the most critical component for successful machine vision applications. An important tool for creating successful vision applications is shining the light on the significant vision knowledge base---tapping into the wealth of knowledge held by experienced vision experts. Also, learn from the trials and tribulations of vision rookies---and steer clear of known mistakes when designing your application.
Thankfully the Internet makes this mountain of knowledge accessible, but there are two significant hurdles:
- Where to turn to find useful information on applying vision systems.
- How to sift through the mountains of data and find what most directly applies to your issues.
One rich place to find information on machine vision applications is on the recently redesigned AMA’s machinevisiononline.org site. On the left column is an “Ask the Experts” section. OptoIQ, the Vision Systems Design website, has an informative guide, newsletter and blog. Check out the Topic Center Link for useful information.
The PPT VISION Forum and the PPT VISION group on LinkedIn are great places to both see information and post questions of your own---and get them answered by a community of experienced Vision Experts.
Google queries for your specific machine vision questions will be a very slow process. To accelerate your tedious search through all the data noise toward the specific answers you seek, try searching on specific vision sites—like www.pptvision.com.
